Principles by which we do business

Our company operates in a collaborative work environment. Working together, we focus on setting personal and company goals, creating the supportive atmosphere to realize those goals, and do so in a cooperative and ethical environment.

Our integrity, both personal and corporate, is fundamental to our business practice and our company culture.

We value learning and know that education and its application is ever ongoing. It is part of creating a “personal best” culture in our organization.

We value innovation because we know market forces are constantly changing and we must always be at the leading edge.

We value achievement and we are results–oriented, seeking to establish high standards of performance and business conduct.

We believe in cooperation and sharing, striving as individuals and a corporation toward meeting our social and professional responsibilities all the while keeping in mind that a “Win Win” outcome is what we are striving for on all levels.

We remember to laugh and appreciate each others' uniqueness while doing our tasks with joy and good humor.

These principles help to ground us and enable us to be architects of change and leaders in our field.

Background of Coldwell Banker Bainbridge Kaufman Real Estate

In 1952 the firm started as the Arthur Gardner Agency. The company was located on Chestnut Street in Meadville, Pa.

In 1954 the firm was purchased by William “Bill” Bainbridge. It continued to operate at the same location and changed its name to the Bainbridge Agency.

In 1959 Ted Wilson and Ed Kaufman joined Bill Bainbridge as partners in the firm. Interestingly enough, Ted was our Broker’s father who had been licensed in 1955. They moved the company to a location on Diamond Park.

In 1962 Ed Kaufman bought out his partners. Both Ted and Bill went on to start other companies and the real estate firm changed its name to the Bainbridge Kaufman Agency.

In 1987 Teresa "Terry" Wygle purchased the firm and later that year franchised with Coldwell Banker which gave the company a National & International exposure. The services and tools that Coldwell Banker had to offer the firm were outstanding and within two years the company outdistanced the other real estate firms in the area. By then we were operating under the name Coldwell Banker Bainbridge Kaufman Real Estate.

In 1995 Terry decided to incorporate and take in partners. Her husband had passed away and she had remarried. At the time the company was evolving and she and her partners enhanced the structure changing the culture to a collaborative work environment.

In 2000 the firm purchased Sousa Real Estate, a local company located on the east side of Conneaut Lake. This purchase gave the firm an even stronger foothold in Crawford County. Also at this time, David Schepner joined the firm as a partner and over the next 8 years there would be an unprecedented pattern of growth.

In 2001 the firm purchased Diane DeBaise Realty, a Meadville based firm.

In 2003 the firm purchased D. Cutter Real Estate, a Conneaut Lake based firm.

2008 proved to be a year of change and growth. The firm purchased Colonial Penn Real Estate, a company with three offices – Hermitage, New Castle and Chippewa Twp. (just outside of Beaver Falls). The Chippewa office was subsequently closed at which time they opened a new office in Greenville. This served to broaden the company's boundaries to all of Western Pennsylvania. With this came joining the West Penn MLS, a privately owned company servicing 15 Counties. In addition Pam Willis, a former manager with the firm, joined the partnership. In 2011 we made additional changes to the firm and combined our New Castle and Hermitage offices to create an office in Mercer, PA. Just like our motto: "WE NEVER STOP MOVING"

Since 1995 when Terry incorporated, the company has been on a pattern of growth and change unprecedented from anything in its past. They embraced technology and now lead the way in innovative real estate office operation. They offer use of a moving van free of charge to their clients. They offer a Concierge service to assist customers with any and all requests related to home purchase, before, during, and after the sale. They have an in–house Transaction Coordinator to handle the trail of paper from beginning of the sale to end, freeing up our agents to put together more contracts and sell more homes, which is advantageous to both our seller and buyer clients. The company feels this is just the “tip of the iceberg” and looks to the future for more exciting innovations that will set them apart from their competition.
